Looking for a way to make positive changes? Interested in teaching? Want to make a difference in the lives of young people? Join the California State History Museum's volunteer team as a Museum assistant.

We serve over 40,000 students a year! Our education program provides a unique learning experience for students through gallery activities, hands-on workshops, oral history presentations, and an introduction to Constitution Wall - a six-story public art piece that reflects the rights of all Californians.

We are California's museum of the ideas and actions that formed our identity as a state. California is a diverse society, a vibrant democracy and a world-ranking economy. Volunteers at the California State History Museum guide students through our history and encourage them to become active citizens of our future. Individuals with a strong desire to teach and learn about California's past, present, and future are welcome to be a part of the Museum. No experience required, only a love of education, the desire to make positive changes, and the enjoyment of working with groups. Museum staff provides training and support.

This is a great opportunity to take charge and make positive changes through the education of young people. If you are interested in joining the California State History Museum to educate California schoolchildren, please contact the volunteer department at 916.653.5864 or by email.
